Churchcanberra.com was originally a page for what is now Divergent Church but in the hope to see people plug into the body of Christ wherever that may be we decided to create this directly. 

Committed to the principles of historical Christian orthodoxy, our platform not only lists churches by denomination and location but also highlights their core theological positions. We aim to provide resources and insights that guide users in their faith journey while fostering a spirit of unity and understanding among different congregations.

Core Beliefs for Church Listings

 

ChurchCanberra.com exists to help people discover and connect with Christian churches across Canberra and the surrounding region. To be listed on this platform, churches must affirm the core doctrines of historic Christianity as expressed in the Apostles' Creed and the Nicene Creed.

 

Listed churches must also affirm the historic Christian understanding of marriage as a covenant relationship established by God between one man and one woman.

 

In addition, churches listed on this platform should demonstrate a kingdom-minded posture that recognises the Church of Jesus Christ extends beyond any single denomination, network or movement. While churches may hold differing convictions on a range of secondary theological matters, listed churches should affirm that faithful followers of Jesus can be found across multiple Christian traditions that uphold the core doctrines of the Christian faith. Groups that deny the Trinity for instance will not be listed. 

 

ChurchCanberra.com does not seek to erase genuine theological differences between churches. Rather, it seeks to provide a directory of churches united around the historic Christian faith while serving the wider mission of Christ in Canberra and beyond.

We reserve last and final say on which listing is included.
